As we enter the second half of 2024, we have a lot to celebrate here at Dragonfly. Our community continues to grow, we released our cloud product, we've been recognized as a top cloud infrastructure company, and we're continuing to power accelerate data at scale for many of the best applications in the world. Thank you to everyone in our incredible community who has made all of this possible!
25,000 GitHub Stars
When we released the Dragonfly project in 2022, we weren't sure what to expect. We certainly did not expect to have 25,000 GitHub stars and an incredible community of contributors and users less than 2.5 years later. While the stars are a signal of the excitement and traction that the Dragonfly project has garnered, what excites me even more as a founder is the hundreds of developers who have contributed code, the more than 1,000 GitHub issues reported (which have resulted in a much better product), the over 1,000 members in our Discord community, and the regular attendees to our community events.
Release of Dragonfly Cloud
While Dragonfly has always been available for free on GitHub, from the beginning we had users who did not want to manage their own infrastructure asking us for a hosted solution. Last month, we finally released Dragonfly Cloud to the public. Dragonfly users can now decide if they want to self-host our community edition, which is free and open, or use our cloud edition, which has all the same great features as the community edition but is completely managed by us.
Listed in the InfraRed 100
We were honored to be listed in the InfraRed 100 for the second consecutive year. This is a list of 100 transformative companies that are building next-generation cloud infrastructure solutions. Our mission is to power the best applications in the world by accelerating data at scale, and it's always great to be recognized for the progress we're making towards this goal.
Launch of the Dragonfly Community
As our community has grown over the past couple of years, we've received many requests for an easy way to keep in touch and get the latest updates about our technology. Earlier this year, we launched the official Dragonfly Community. As always, we want to continue to hear from our community as much as possible in order to make our product better. To share your feedback, join our Discord, create a GitHub issue, or post to our forum.
Again, we'd like to thank everyone who has been a part of the Dragonfly community this far, we could not have made it this far without you. We're very excited about what we can build together going forward.
